Remember the episode ‘The One With Princess Consuela’ where Phoebe decides to change her name after being married to Mike?
While we all thought she’s going to just add ‘Hannigan’ to her name, Phoebe being Phoebe changed it entirely to ‘Princess Consuela Banana Hammock’, because why not!
However, 30-year-old Ricky was watching the episode with his friends when he was hit with a “light-bulb moment”.
“The lazy day turned into a few drinks and a takeaway then a few more drinks and the episode came on where Phoebe changes her name to Princess Consuela Banana Hammock and I had a light-bulb moment”, he said in an interview.
He shared the idea with his friends and one of them started searching ‘change name by deed poll’ on Google.
Soon he was on a phone call with an official telling him that he could change his name to anything he wants, as long as it wasn’t offensive.
And boom! Ricky’s full name was now ‘Ricky Princess Consuela Banana Hammock Reigns’!
“There’s also a paragraph in my passport basically saying I’m not a real princess and I shouldn’t get any preferential treatment at the airport”, he said.
He later tried justifying his bizarre decision of changing his name.
“I didn’t want my dad’s family name. It had been on my mind for a while but I never did anything about it. I am gay and my dad hates the fact I am. It was just two fingers to him, basically”, he said.
If that’s so, his dad should be happy Ricky didn’t steal his clothes and wear everything at once, all the while going ‘commando’ and doing some lunges!
