The passing of actor Matthew Perry shocked and devastated the entire world. So imagine the kind of pain his fellow cast members of ‘Friends’ felt when they heard the news. Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, Matt Leblanc, and David Schwimmer spent two decades of their lives with Matthew. They were a unit. They were a family. They were much more than friends.
Matthew Perry passed away on October 28 in his Los Angeles home. He was 54 years old. At first, there was radio silence from the cast of ‘Friends’ as they probably tried their best to come to terms with such a personal loss. However, the five of them released a joint statement addressing Matthew’s passing, which was shared by People Magazine.
“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world,” the statement read.
It was then signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer.
This is truly heartbreaking.
