Prank Goes Wrong As Friend Pushes Girl From 60-Foot Bridge, Injuring Her Lungs & Ribs

There’s a popular saying that “tragedy strikes when you least expect it”. And practically speaking, there’s a good reason behind it. Our bodies are very fragile things and almost everything in the world have the capacity to kill us (even gravity). So, the moment we take our guard down, we’re bound to feel the repercussions of doing so. Jordan Holgerson learnt that the hard way.

According to ABC News, 16-year-old Jordan Holgerson was on the bridge over Lewis river with her friends. However, things literally went south when their fun and games went a little over-the-top. Jordan said,

“I went to the top of the bridge and my friend, she came up to the bridge with me. And so, she was counting down, but I didn’t think anything of it. And I was like, ‘No, don’t count down. I’m not ready.’ And then, she pushed me.”

The area is famous for the 60-feet drop from the bridge and people often jump from there. However the suddenness of the Jordan’s fall didn’t allow her to dive in head first. That’s why she landed awkwardly on the water, injuring her ribs and her lungs as well.

Warning: Although the video doesn’t show the injury, the footage can be disturbing to some viewers. Hence, viewer discretion is advised.

Jordan has said that the friend who had pushed her has apologised. And the friend should be thankful that Jordan is recovering because this could’ve ended fatally. Jordan herself has said that if anyone is intending to jump from such a height (why would you?), just make sure you know what you’re doing. That’s because it takes hours and days to keep everything in shape and it takes a few seconds to make everything go wrong.
