Everyone who has watched Wes Anderson’s animated masterpiece ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ (or has an abundance of common sense) knows that foxes and hens don’t see eye to eye.

Since foxes are clearly stronger than hens, they usually end up overpowering them to turn them into their breakfast, lunch or dinner. But not this time.

According to the Daily Mail, a fox had tried to enter a chicken coop situated inside an agricultural school in France, which is quite normal. However, little did the animal know that the tables had turned. Pascal Daniel, head of farming at Le Gros Chene School in Brittany said,

“There, in the corner, we found this dead fox. There was a herd instinct and they attacked him with their beaks.”

That’s right. The fox had probably entered the henhouse at dusk to acquire his next meal. But he got trapped inside by the light-controlled hatch doors that close when the Sun went down. And he found itself face-to-face with a bunch of angry chicken who pecked it to death.

However, this is not the first time such a phenomenon has occurred. Back in 2010, the combined efforts of Dude (the cockerel) and his hens Izzy, Pongo and Pecky had led to the death of a sly fox.

The incident had occurred in Essex to a family who had already lost a hen and a cockerel to foxes. But when a young fox came into the coop, the new team managed to luckily land a table on it and then peck it to death.

Listen up, chicken lovers! These guys and gals are evolving. So you better gear up for the chicken revolution that is upon us. Because when they’ll come, they’ll definitely show no mercy.
