A French Man Sued His Previous Company Because The Work Was ‘Too Boring’. WTF!

Normal people: My work is too boring. It’s very dull. *Wakes up the next day. Goes to work for another 4 years.*

Frédéric Desnard from Paris: My work is too boring. Let me sue the company.

Not everybody can pull this off, but 44-year-old Frenchman Frédéric Desnard from Paris, has done exactly that. He has sued his former company because according to him the work was too boring.

While most of the nation is dealing with overworking and cutting down the number of work hours to 6/day, Frédéric is an anomaly.

Desnard is suing his former employer, a perfume enterprise and has demanded a compensation of $400,000 (approx ₹ 2.66 crores) for the alleged boredom.

Desnard believes that the company should be responsible for the mental well-being and health damages and the financial outcome of him missing out a promotion.

Desnard says that he was removed from an earlier high-profile job that included managing certain contracts and travel expenses and shifted to a position that required him to do “duller tasks”.

He claims his company wanted to bore him to death so that he quits voluntarily and thus limit the severance package.

But Desnard decided to stay, wait and do nothing and earned $90,000 in the following 4 years.

But money wasn’t all that he cared about. He said, “I was ashamed to be paid to do nothing.” He also claims that this boredom at work was the reason why he suffered from epilepsy, ulcers, sleep problems and serious depression.

But finally, after a car crash 2 years ago forced Desnard to take a sick leave of more than 6 months, his company fired him stating the reason that his absence was interrupting work process.

A verdict is expected on July 27th, but we can only wait and watch and wonder whether he will win the lawsuit or not.

Are you too bored at work? 😉
