The Joker is DC’s most popular super villain who was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane and Jerry Robinson. Since his inception, he has gone onto trouble Batman in the comics, video games and animated shows. And as for his cinematic escapades, the crown prince of crime has been portrayed by Cesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger and Jared Leto.
However, now it’s time for one of the best actors working in Hollywood to wear the classic make-up and cause mayhem. And his name is Joaquin Phoenix.
After a lot of speculation on Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, director Todd Phillips has put all doubts to rest by releasing his first look on Instagram.
Although Joaquin Phoenix isn’t in full Joker garb, you can totally see in his eyes that he has integrated a version of the character into his psyche. As this movie will delve into his origins, we will able to see how the man was before he became the Joker AKA Arthur. And this get up is definitely from that phase of the character’s life.
But that’s not all, folks. Some leaked photos and videos have also arrived online which shows Phoenix’s Arthur walking around and messing with a clown.
1. He is totally pulling off that 80s look.

Although it’s not much, fans were excited about Phoenix’s turn as the Joker and what he’s going to do with the character.
1. That makes sense.

Who knew Joaquin Phoenix was such a perfect Dario Argento. pic.twitter.com/a73meBoNuQ

6. We’ve found a stand-in for Joaquin.
Joaquin Phoenix in a JOKER origin movie has the same hair as me in freshman year of high school. Coincidence? You tell me, man. You tell me. pic.twitter.com/0aswEkBkAn

8. Same here.
This Joker film is not something I originally supported…hate the idea of giving him a origin and calling him Arthur… BUT, love Joaquin Phoenix, dig the new images (for what they are. Doesn’t give much away),like a stand-alone film…Ugh, it has me intrigued. https://t.co/15y211IG10

9. We’ll see about that.

10. Unsettling is the way to go.
I'd love to see something midway between Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight, and Robin Williams in One Hour Photo. Maybe with a bit of Javier Bardem in No Country for Old Men. Something really odd, and unsettling. https://t.co/zP4ULuG6rR

The Martin Scorsese produced film that’s titled simply as ‘Joker’ will be set apart from the current set of DC films (‘Man of Steel’, ‘Batman v Superman’, ‘Suicide Squad’, ‘Wonder Woman’ and ‘Suicide Squad’). According to the Mirror, it will star Robert De Niro and Frances Conroy as the Joker’s mother. And if that’s not enough to get you excited, just check out Phoenix’s filmography that involves movies like ‘You Were Never Really Here’, ‘The Gladiator’, ‘The Master’ and ‘Her’, and you’ll know he’s going to nail this role.
