‘Do Employees Enjoy The Same Privilege?’ Asks Twitter After Female CEO Brings Baby To Work

Ask any mother and she will say that being a full-time mommy and working simultaneously is not a cakewalk. Be it a working mother or a homemaker, when a woman holds a child in her arms, her responsibilities multiply manifolds.

But there’s a reason why only women are blessed with the gift of bearing and nursing a child. It’s because they are strong and have the ability to balance everything no matter how difficult it may appear.

Recently, Radhika Gupta, MD, and CEO of Edelweiss Mutual Fund tweeted a picture of her newborn baby, lying on the floor of her office room, playing with toys.

Since both parents had to go to work, she decided to take her baby along in the absence of her house help.

Captioning the post, she wrote that with planning, patience, and a problem-solving attitude, everything works out.

“On a day when both parents have to work, and there is no help, guess who comes to work? Often asked how are you going to make a mom and CEO’s life work. Well, a little planning, a lot of patience, and a problem-solving attitude make things work. And a baby’s laugh does the rest.”

On reading her post, people lauded Gupta for her commitment to both, her baby and her work.

However, some highlighted that it’s a privilege only top management employees enjoy, something that junior-level employees lack.

Twitter is clearly divided. Earlier, a Chandigarh female constable brought her baby to duty. Do you agree with people saying that only working mothers at higher posts have this privilege? Let us know in the comments section.
