When planning a weekend party with your girl gang, do you often feel like there is absolutely no drink that could suit your palate? Doesn’t it make you feel slightly jealous that every man is enjoying a beer, but there’s no beer for you ladies? Hold up! Feeling patronized yet? Feeling patronized yet? Well, this Gurgaon-based brewpub is answering questions you’ve never asked! Presenting – The Female Beer! *cue unenthusiastic cheers*
The pub has a product they’re calling the ‘Female Beer’ – as it is just ‘perf for pretty ladies’. They shared a now-deleted-post on Facebook, where they talked about their proud introduction to their female-friendly menu. The post advertising the drink-in-question wanted to target women’s appeal but ended up reiterating the same stereotypes about women.
And if the generalized taste preference and presumptuous ‘hatred for strong beer’ wasn’t enough, the post takes it up another notch. They say–
“Trust us and this is when your Bae will show her true Tigress identity and she will be sufficient to sulk down any Tiger , so dont mess with a Female guys.”
Needless to say, Twitter wasn’t a fan of the ‘Female Beer’ nor of how it was being presented. (Pssst. Don’t look at the glass either).
No one:
Absolutely no one:

India's first 'female beer' everyone.
Will it have some curfew hours to serve? Or the glass be judged for being 'too long' or 'too short'? pic.twitter.com/IydBiVuURo

Is this beer “eve teased” as yet? Stalked? In real danger of getting raped? Has someone claimed about it, “yeh meri bandi hai”? Has she made some guy angry n hence abusive? Does this beer worry about how it will come back home before going out in the evening how? #FemaleBeer pic.twitter.com/w9AvUDk3u6

So now, a man’s drink is just meant to be ‘bitter and strong’. And a woman’s drink must only be ‘sweet, smooth and no less strong.’ If this isn’t called stereotyping, I don’t know what is.
Well, if this is in fact, your kind of drink, then you’re in luck. Happy weekend, maybe!
