Poor Farmer’s Son Who Passed College With Grace Marks Goes On To Become An IAS Officer

It doesn’t matter what’s been written in your story so far. It’s how you fill the rest of the pages that count.

Many of us can resonate with this saying. When we were young, we had a set path that was chosen for us. We made mistakes – lots of them. But rather than choosing to linger on those failures, we decided to turn our lives for the better. Similar is the story of IAS Officer Suresh Kumar Ola.

According to a report by Dainik Bhaskar, Suresh Kumar Ola was born to a poor farmer and homemaker in Jaipur and hence, didn’t get the opportunities that many others get. He studied at a government school and didn’t have access to tutors who could help him out with studies. When he was in college pursuing his second-year, he passed his exams with grace marks. That’s when he was shaken up and decided to work harder.

He thought to himself, where will this son of a poor farmer go? So he decided to work harder. He set goals for himself and focused on his studies. Soon, he graduated with a decent score.

He then went on to pursue an MBA, completing which he worked at a bank and four other places. After this, he decided to become an IAS officer, just like his elder brother.

After immense hard work, he secured 41st rank at the exam! He is now appointed as the District Collector of Dungarpur, Rajasthan.

“We Indians are hard-working. And this has been proved by the pandemic. I had been deprived of all facilities – no guidance, no coaching. My only goal was to work hard and move forward. There is no set day for this. You have to start today,” he says.

We hope IAS Officer Suresh Kumar Ola’s story gives hope to many others!
