“Believe In Yourself” Farhan Akhtar Replies To Abhay Deol’s ZNMD Post About Lobbying

A few days back, Abhay Deol had slammed B-town for lobbying against him and Farhan Akhtar during their film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. He said that while several award shows had demoted them to side actors, his co-star Farhan was okay with only Hrithik being nominated as the lead actor.

Recently, Farhan explained his side of the story, saying that all he cared about was putting in hard work, reports News18. The ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ actor said that you should believe in yourself and not seek validation from others.

He was quoted saying by India Today,

“You are constantly hearing about some rat race and everybody is fighting each other to some kind of spot which does not exist. I mean the fact is you have to believe in yourself, you have to work sincerely, work hard.”

Farhan added that the ultimate goal of an actor shouldn’t be appearing on the front pages of newspapers or magazines.

“If that is your larger interest, I really feel that you are in the wrong profession. You’re not here for that. Have you come here to be an actor, director, singer, music composer, or have you come here to be a reality star? Have you come here to be just, I don’t know, a star?”

The actor-director also spoke about happiness and said that one shouldn’t seek validation from others. He was quoted saying, “I feel that’s a very personal thing. If in your personality you are constantly seeking validation for things, you will, there is no eventuality possible but disappointment. You may have a wonderful time for a while, but eventually, you will be disappointed, because it is not possible to keep getting validation from other people.”

Honestly, no one can ever validate your hard work and efforts. However, credit should be given where due. What do you think? Tell us.
