These ₹11,000 ‘Extreme Cut Out’ Jeans Are Sold Out And Twitter Cannot Understand Why

I absolutely love wearing denim jeans. A good pair of well-fitted and the right shade of blue denim jeans can be the most comfortable and good-looking piece of clothing you can own. It can be worn every day (even without a wash) and it can be paired with almost anything and still look fashionable.

But it’s summer and we need something beachy and breezy. But with pockets. Pockets are very important. Gosh! A girl can have some demands, right? Looks like an LA-based company heard the please of many women like me.

Carmar Denim came up with ‘extreme cut out’, what can I say, jeans. WITH POCKETS. It’s the rebellious and wild cousin of the currently popular ripped jeans.

What’s new about it, you ask? Well, the fact that it looks something like this.

Yep, it’s nothing but threads and seams, a zip and some fabric that covers almost nothing. BUT IT HAS POCKETS OMG!

Once the shock of this new ‘trend’ has settled, you can read further to get a little more shocked.

These extreme cut out jeans are all sold out. And they’re priced at US$168. That’s a whopping ₹11,000.

Shocked, are we? Well, you’re not alone. Twitter is rife with reactions of disbelief, humour and sarcasm.

1. That’s right, Mr Hashmi.

2. You can’t have best of everything, Sowmya!

3. Really not sure if this is meant as a joke or an insult.

4. We’ve got you ‘covered’, ladies (no pun intended).

5. Mind=blown kinda solution.

6. Yeah, and I won’t even charge you a bomb for it.

7. Look closely, more closely. They’re there.

8. I feel ancient, tbh.

Just a while ago, Zara was selling what looked and seemed like a ‘lungi’ in the name of a ‘flowing skirt’ and that too at an extravagant price.

While I understand that fashion and clothing are a form of art and expression, I really fail to understand what these extreme cut out jeans are trying to express. Maybe it’s just not in my ‘jeans’ to understand, you know? (Geddit? Geddit? ?)
