This Instagram Account Takes Existential Crisis Memes To A Whole New Level And You’ll Love It

existential crisis

Our generation, I mean the millennial generation, seems to be perpetually caught in the middle of an existential crisis. To be or not to be? To do or not to do? What to do? People or no people? Friends or perpetual loneliness? What purpose are we serving if any?

Okay, I’ll stop. I got carried away. But my point is, the existential crisis is real and it plagues us all. We’re a bunch of kids who became adults and are now confused whether we should be kind and selfless or bitchy and selfish. We are always trying to escape the dread looming over us.

But like most things, how do we deal with it? With humour, of course.

Instagram account textsfromyourexistentialist is the (my most favourite) page for dark humour that resonates deeply with the questions that haunt your soul and soothes it too.

1. Living more in fiction than in reality.

2. Emotionally distant forever.

3. Yep, that’s how you do it.

4. God dammit, this is me every Monday morning.

5. Every day is a new character.

6. Tell me when you figure out, been wanting to colour my hair since forever.

7. That’s nihilism to some next level.

8. Caused by the obsession to overthink everything in life.

9. That sounds oddly appealing.

10. Sounds good, pick us up at 8?

11. Person on-line: Welcome to the club.

12. That’s the only way I’m going to believe you.

13. Because painting me like one is too mainstream.

14. Who are you cracking open a cold one with today?

15. Got a better comeback to that, sir?

16. It’s become a second home, tbh.

17. If it has psychedelic music as the background score, it is.

18. Word.

19. Can you tell me how to get over that?

20. A question equivalent to ‘to be or not to be’.

21. Try something new now, Narcissus.

22. We could be neighbours!

23. My advice? Dump him, go hook up with life, show death you could be happy without him too!

These jokes, although quite funny, reflect the sad reality of our generation’s mental state and health. But when you’re engulfed with perpetual despair, humour is the silver linings, right?
