Esha Gupta, the brand ambassador of popular football club Arsenal leaves no chance to flaunt her love and fondness for the team. From posting pictures in the Arsenal jersey to hailing the team’s brilliant performances on social media, Esha seems to be the perfect brand ambassador for the team. But a recent Instagram story of the model-turned-actor would have certainly left Arsenal club doubting their choice.

A screenshot of the Instagram story posted by Esha, which looks like a WhatsApp conversation with a friend has caught the attention of people for all the wrong reasons.
As shown in the screenshot, Esha and her friend criticized Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi for his performance in a recent match. Her friend calls Iwobi a “neanderthal” and “gorilla faced” and Esha laughs it off.
How do you feel about an Arsenal brand ambassador making these racist comments about an Arsenal Academy graduate? @Arsenal pic.twitter.com/Dfcpvl58mF

These demeaning comments about an Arsenal academy graduate coming from an Arsenal brand ambassador itself did not go well with the fans as well as the entire Twitter.
This needs to be investigated further. A lot of us Nigerian gooners aren't taking it. @alexiwobi is our boy. We will not stand and watch him been dehumanised and not act.
Take not @Arsenal.

Kick her out, no place for this in society. It’s 2019 FFS.
— Sean C 🇿🇼🇬🇧 (@Sean4C) January 27, 2019
This is disgraceful. @KelechiAFC
— Big Chi 🇳🇬 (@CoachChim) January 27, 2019
You know what it is, what we have been saying about what this boy faces on here, i feel so ashamed he better leave this club, not worth it.
— Kayode ICE Stephen (@Kaysteeve) January 27, 2019
This is pathetic and should be treated accordingly.
Alex Iwobi has improved this season yet his own family members (Arsenal fans) don't like him. Why are we like this.
I Love you @alexiwobi thank you for always giving your best to my darling @Arsenal— Chima Aguma (@DeyCallMeKoke) January 28, 2019
Who is this idiot?
— Catherine Yeboah 🇬🇠(@catyeboah) January 28, 2019
Awful thing to say. Utterly disgusting
— RICHARD CAPELING (@richcapeling) January 28, 2019
After facing the furry of the virtual world, Esha Gupta also came up with an apology on Twitter.

But the damage was already done! People did not find her apology heartfelt and trolled Esha for still being unsure about making racist remarks.
Don’t put #gooner4life after such stupidness we don’t wanna be associated with such dumbassery
— name: yega (@YegaDonSmith) January 27, 2019
Thought? It was racist.
— Hunkleberry Finn (@HunkleberryFinn) January 27, 2019
Unforgivable. Break all bonds with our club.
— Thom Cosgrove (@Thomwithanh) January 27, 2019
Making Racist remarks to a Academy graduate of your beloved club after being a club ambassador and role model and trying to save yourself with that hashtag. Ironic.
— LEGACY (@warriorROONEY) January 27, 2019
*I'm sorry I got caught.

Just resign you goblin

Esha Gupta’s insensitive behavior towards the club has left Gooners furious. But Arsenal is yet to come up with a comment on the entire episode. Will Esha’s remarks cost her the brand ambassadorship of the club? Only time will tell.
