For those who don’t like football, the game will seem like 22 players kicking around a ball for 90 minutes. But those who like it will see the talent, skill and strategy that’s displayed during those very 90 minutes. And when the energy and momentum reaches its peak we get to witness magical moments like that of Cristiano’s mind-boggling bicycle kick. That said, given the length of the match, there’s a lot of scope for the most random instances as well.
England went up against Mexico at the U-20 Football World Cup and their match became the talk of the town because one of the most unusual goals was scored by their forward.
Mexico took the lead in the match thanks to Jacqueline Ovalle’s goal before the half-time, but after the break, Alessia Russo made things even. From there onward, it was a pretty one-sided game as England kept netting the ball to make the score 6-1, courtesy of Georgia Stanway and Lauren Hemp. And while Hemp wowed spectators with her hat-trick, she made the everyone’s eyes pop out by scoring a goal with her butt.

Given how strange and random this goal was, the reactions to it were hilarious because nobody could believe that it actually happened.

No matter how good something is in the beginning, there’s every chance that it’ll get boring over time. Football has been almost the same since its inception and look, it still manages to surprise us. I hope Lauren masters this goal scoring technique and wins the World Cup for her nation.
