Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya or Sir MV, as many would call him, is one of the Indian pioneers who contributed their lives to engineering a new and better India. The Bharat Ratna awardee is often credited for being a nation builder who extended his expertise in areas like irrigation, railways, flood disaster management among others.
Hence, to honour his efforts and contribution, his birthday, September 15, is reportedly observed as Engineer’s Day in India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania.
