Indian weddings are known for their grandeur and can be quite a handful to manage. With week-long celebrations, endless guests, and countless things to check off, it’s no surprise that planning can get overwhelming. In the past, our parents would jot down lists on paper, carefully noting every detail with pen and pencil. But now, technology has come to the rescue, making things easier with project management tools like Notion, Trello, and others.
Enter Dhaval Singh, an engineer, who took to X to share a modern twist on wedding planning. Instead of the classic Google Sheets, he and his soon-to-be-wife Aditi have decided to use Jira, a project management tool often used in tech companies.
They’ve broken down their wedding tasks into manageable chunks with a sleek setup, sharing screenshots of their Jira board for all to see. Tasks like the guest list, wedding outfits, photoshoots, and preparing goodies for guest rooms are neatly organized into “to-do,” “in-progress,” and “done” categories.
Have a look at Dhaval’s post here:
Google sheets wasn’t scalable for an Indian wedding.
Moved to @Jira instead… https://t.co/pk7U69N4RM pic.twitter.com/RUjPvKtOJH— Dhaval singh (@Dhavalsingh7) November 12, 2024
People online thought that this was an incredible way to manage the planning for an Indian wedding. It’s neat, efficient, and let’s be honest, a little fancy! 😛 It’s a smart way to make sure nothing falls through the cracks and everything runs smoothly.

lol, if a project management tool can handle the stakeholders conflicts 😂 , fixed timelines but changing requirements and endless dependencies of an Indian wedding, it’s ready for any market and product!

Massive overkill but love it 😂

@trello also by @Atlassian would have been more casual-friendly though, unless you mean absolute business! Great choice either way! 🤝
I am interested in knowing if you have invited your family to this kanban board though?

Used Notion for this 😅
Room allocations, a detailed event calendar, an itinerary of nearby travel spots for guests during free time, daily menus for the week, and even sangeet performances 😂— _pushakar_ (@gaikwadpushakar) November 13, 2024
Arre wah… shaadi ka project management level up ho gaya Jira mein dulha dulhan ke tasks bhi assign kar do ab! 😆
