Phone With 18,000 mAh Battery Launched, People Call It ‘Power Bank With A SIM Slot’

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) has always been an exciting time for tech nerds and 2019 is no different. With foldable smartphones being unveiled by two brands even before the event started, everyone was asking the same question, ‘What’s the next big advancement in phones?’

The answer lies in Energizer’s Power Max P18K Pop and its 18,000 mAh battery!

What does that mean in layman terms?

Usually, premium phones come with 2500 to 3700 mAh battery. And according to Gadgets 360, this battery lets you make,

“90 hours of calls, listen to 100 hours of music and watch around 2 days of video on a single charge. In the standby mode, the battery is said to last up to 50 days.”

Needless to say, a full charge would take around eight hours. Which is probably why the unit is 18mm in thickness. How else would it accommodate such a large battery? The other specifications include a 6.2-inch LCD display, a pop-up module with two selfie cameras in the front, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and more.

After having used sleek handsets for years though, the thickness did put off netizens. While everyone appreciated a longer battery life, its humongous size was the butt of all jokes on Twitter.

Love it or hate it, you definitely can’t ignore this brick of a phone. Hopefully, Energizer can find a way to give us better battery life in a slimmer version down the road. Until then, this can be a better alternative to carrying both handset and power bank around.
