Humans are the worst species on this planet. And that statement might seem a bit too harsh at first glance. But when you think about the fact that we put price tags on animal parts and even pose for pictures after killing them, it doesn’t seem harsh enough.
Now, every country has tried in one way or another to put a stop poaching by increasing security around wildlife sanctuaries or implementing strict laws. However, when have they ever been followed properly? That’s why animals have decided to take matters into their own hands/paws/feet.
According to CNN, a group of poachers had entered South Africa’s Kruger National Park to hunt rhinos. But before they could get to the rhinos, they were hunted down by an elephant and a pride of lions. Glenn Phillips, the managing executive of the national park said,
“Indications found at the scene suggested that a pride of lions had devoured the remains leaving only a human skull and a pair of pants.”
He further added,
“Entering Kruger National Park illegally and on foot is not wise, it holds many dangers and this incident is evidence of that. It is very sad to see the daughters of the deceased mourning the loss of their father, and worse still, only being able to recover very little of his remains.”
Netizens had mixed reactions to this incident. While some thought that this isn’t going to stop poaching, many others were of the opinion that this was karma.
"an angry elephant surprised them as they stalked endangered rhino and stamped their friend to death giving them a chance to run for safety." https://t.co/mRCwW4UfN1 You don't have to run faster than the elephant, just faster than your fellow poacher.

But, elephants are not going to fix this for us. Neither is a beautiful David Attenborough nature program.
YOU need to vote for people who will truly represent you.
YOU need to make different purchasing decisions.
YOU are part of this ecosystem.

8) Finally, it seems like justice to celebrate that recent poacher’s demise by the animals themselves. But note that it was the Rangers who recovered his remains for his family.
The crime syndicates behind the poachers are destroying people too.

Remember, poachers on the ground are mostly from low-income families, enticed and taken advantage of by those running the show. If you think this is anything but sad then you need to rethink your values. https://t.co/boO1K77mWZ

The three poachers who were part of the illegal hunt were arrested on Wednesday by the South African police. They were brought to the Komatipoort Magistrate Court on Friday to face charges of possessing firearms and ammunition without a license, conspiracy to poach and trespassing. The judge has put them into custody and they’ll be back in court this week with a formal bail application.
