With forests being cut down for urbanization, it’s bad enough that humans are taking over much of the space meant for animals. On top of that, many of us tend to underestimate an animal‘s need for space, privacy, and respect. Just like we feel threatened when an unknown entity enters our space, animals do too. Hence, we should take a few steps back before animals take matters into their own hands.
I say this because one elephant charged towards a jeep filled with tourists at a safari park after the vehicle went very much near it. A video of the incident has gone viral wherein a tourist can be heard saying, “Arrey kuch nahi hoga.”
The video was shared by Indian Forest Services Officer Surender Mehra on Twitter who tried to caution people against taking videos in the wild. Have a look at the video here:
अरे कुछ नहीं होगा, तुम विडीओ बनाओ….
How many times we feel the same, when we encounter wildlife, especially Elephants…🐘#SafetyFirst #RighttoPassage#RespectWildlife pic.twitter.com/MqdprC5UpO— Surender Mehra IFS (@surenmehra) February 24, 2021
People online suggested that humans need to respect animals, only then will they not feel threatened and harm us. A few others pointed out how safaris can be really dangerous and it is best not to spite an elephant.
If you respect them and love them. They will recipocate. Respect Nature and its habitants. pic.twitter.com/QQYtA9rw2e

People don’t know that an angry elephant is more dangerous than a tiger or leopard and can injure or kill several.
One should never take any wild animal for granted, especially an elephant…..— Eternal Traveller 🇮🇳 (@TravelerEternal) February 24, 2021
Why cant these safaris stopped. Why these animals should be disturbed

Sad reality.😥 We must start educating kids in all schools about the need to respect animals. Two Incubation centres are planned to be put up in schools at Nilgiris. Young generation is the only hope https://t.co/JtnMk7wioP

Respect for wildlife needs to be taught to humans in school..spotting wildlife is a sight to behold..but we have to respect their majestic spirit..and their domain.. https://t.co/M8YzMiP5ar

Tourists need to be more responsible while visiting safari parks. Coming too close to a wild animal for the sake of a video or a picture could cost your life.
