Caught Drunk Driving In This City? Be Ready To Say Goodbye To Your Jobs And Visas.

Drunk driving has brutal repercussions and it’s about time we stop doing it as it results into reckless driving.

Hyderabad seems to be acting smart as it has come up with a new rule in which drunk driving can lead to losing out on your precious job and you may be denied visas for overseas employment.

This especially applies to all government jobs aspirants.

Hyderabad police commissioner M Mahender Reddy shared his tough stand for this incredible move.

This is what he had to say:

I have given instructions to the special branch to verify the conviction data of drunken driving offenders and traffic case offenders during background verification work and report the same to employers.

Supreme Court has given strict instructions regarding this matter and the city courts have been following that sincerely.

The punishments will range from ’till the rising of court’ (a nominal sentence that lasts for only a few seconds) to three months imprisonment.

Since the year 2011, many offenders have been caught and most of them are in the 18 – 30 age group.

There is a good probability that these people might not be offered government jobs in the future and they might be denied visas to study abroad (particularly in the USA).

According to the passport rules, the people who receive a jail term for less than 2 years, are eligible for getting passports, but if they fail to mention their jail term in passport application papers, they may be charged for ‘perjury’.

Women will not be spared either. Women personnel have been deployed in Punjagutta, Banjara Hills, and Jubilee Hills areas to keep a tab on drunk women drivers.

That’s right! Women are not exempted from this rule!

Finally, there is a chance to put these drunk driving cases to rest.

Let’s hope for some improvement.
