As a child, I always looked forward to traveling by train. Honestly, I found the idea of a huge vehicle transporting thousands of people to their destination quite fascinating. But as I grew up I wondered about all the massive responsibilities of the driver of the train. After all, they are the ones that deal with all the obstacles and ensure we reach home safely.
Recently, a loco pilot in Maharashtra reversed a passenger train to help a person in need, reports Hindustan Times. The driver rolled back for over a half a kilometer to pick up a passenger who fell from the running train. The driver’s swift action helped save the person’s life.
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal appreciated the railway employees quick thinking and swift actions in a tweet:
आज पाचोरा-माहेजी रेलवे स्टेशन के बीच ट्रेन से गिरे एक घायल यात्री के लिए लोको पायलट ने ट्रेन को लगभग 500 मीटर पीछे ले जाकर यात्री को ट्रेन में बैठाकर उपचार के लिए हॉस्पिटल पहुंचाया।
रेलवे कर्मचारियों की संवेदनशीलता के साथ अपना कर्तव्य निभाने का यह एक अनुपम उदाहरण है। pic.twitter.com/qfJcse7oXm

According to railway officials, a traveler had fallen down between Pachora and Maheji stations in Maharashtra during the train journey, reports NDTV. The guard of the train had informed the loco pilot about the mishap immediately. After this, the loco pilot took the decision to back the train and pick up the unconscious person. The mas was rushed to the hospital and is stable now.
Many people admired the railway employees choice of action:

However, this is not the railway staff’s only act of kindness. Previously, railway employees had transformed old train coaches into colorful classrooms. Kudos to the railway department for all their hard work and dedication.
