Video Shows Student With Down Syndrome Asking GF To High School Dance

Off late, people have been pulling out all the stops when it comes to proposing to their loved ones. Apart from flash mobs and hot air balloons, there are some who have gone the extra mile and popped the question with 16 adorable doggos or a country-wide GPS drawing! But to be honest, even a simple one filled with love is sure to do the trick.

David Cowan, a student at Seminole High School in Florida, decided to ask girlfriend Saris Marie Garcia to the homecoming dance with the cutest proposal. He surprised her while she was cheerleading at her school’s football game with balloons, a bouquet and a sunflower-embellished sign that read, “Will you be my sunshine to homecoming?”

According to The Indian Express, both of them have Down syndrome and met while they were taking speech therapy. Even though they study at different schools, they have the Down Syndrome Foundation in Orlando and Special Olympics of Seminole County in common.

When Saris Marie shared a video of the proposal on Facebook, everyone got a bit emotional and sent good wishes to the couple.

This goes to show that the scale and elaborateness of a proposal are of no consequence, all you need is a whole lotta love!
