Don’t Have Sex And Don’t Eat Meat: Central Council Tells Pregnant Women. I Thought It’s 2017!

Seems like everyone in the world knows what a women should wear, what she should do and also, what she should THINK. It just baffles me how much control do the dominants want upon us. We are living in the 21st century but most people are stuck in some historic part of the world, where women just cannot wear their opinion on their sleeves.

And one more excellent example in the books is this ‘spectacular’ advice from Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy. It is a Government funded center for research in Yoga and Naturopathy.ts advice to pregnant women for a healthy baby, is what has been baffling us –

  • Stay away from desire, anger, attachment, hatred and lust.
  • Avoid bad company
  • Be with good people in stable and peaceful conditions only
  • Hang some good and beautiful pictures in the bedroom, which will effect the child also.
  • Self study, have spiritual thoughts
  • Read the life stories of great personalities
  • Keep calm

Seriously, in a country with the second largest population in the world, you are asking people to stay away from lust. Clever. These instructions are a part of a booklet called ‘Mother and Child Care’, which was released before the International Yoga Day.

One of the recommendation for a healthy baby also advises the mother to not eat meat. Hindustan Times approached a senior gynecologist, Dr Malavika Sabharwal for a comment and she said –

“The advice is unscientific. Protein-deficiency malnutrition and anemia are health concerns for pregnant women and meats are a great source of both protein and iron, which is better absorbed from animal sources than plant sources.”

And if they happen to think that no sex when the wife is pregnant, is a real thing – they probably are in need of some sex education. When there are chances of miscarriage, or any complication in pregnancy doctors can advise the couple to be careful in the first trimester but ‘NO SEX’ rule is not applicable.

Why did not someone tell me that it isn’t 2017 that we are living in. What yaa…I will just have to go back and cringe because I wrote sex so many times.
