On a daily basis, everyone (except Robert Downey Jr., because he doesn’t doubt himself) doubts their smartness in comparison to the rest of the world. And every time that thought comes to your mind, just look towards Donald Trump and you’ll feel better.
In 2018, the man has gone from threatening the Iranian President to fist-bumping before a 9/11 memorial service to tweeting a bad ‘Game of Thrones’ joke. Oh, did you think he was done? Well, think again.
Recently, Donald Trump tweeted out a belated Happy Diwali post to Indians all across the world. However, there was a major blunder in it.
Today, we gathered for Diwali, a holiday observed by Buddhists, Sikhs, and Jains throughout the United States & around the world. Hundreds of millions of people have gathered with family & friends to light the Diya and to mark the beginning of a New Year. https://t.co/epHogpTY1A pic.twitter.com/9LUwnhngWJ

To be honest, the first major blunder was that Trump didn’t do the customary wishing on D-day. Nevertheless, derr aaye, durrust aaye. But the second and noticeable mistake was that he wished almost every religion followed in India (Buddishts, Sikhs and Jains) a Happy Diwali, except Hindus.
Donald Trump’s initial Diwali wishes obviously didn’t go down well with Indians, and they pointed out this error hilariously.

5. It’s apparent why he fudged it up then.
Diwali is not a Buddhist holiday. It's a Hindu holiday that celebrates, among other things, the victory of knowledge over ignorance. #Irony https://t.co/fEqhJfyUr8

14. Accurate.
Trump attributing the Hindu festival of Diwali to Buddhists, Sikhs and Jains will go down with a thud in India. Roughly like saying "Today we celebrate Hannukkah, a holiday observed by Zoroastrians, Welsh people and cello players throughout the United States" https://t.co/6KiDEzQTJS

The online uproar finally reached the White House and 17 minutes later Donald Trump tweeted out another message acknowledging the involvement of Hindus in Diwali.
It was my great honor to host a celebration of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights, in the Roosevelt Room at the @WhiteHouse this afternoon. Very, very special people! https://t.co/kQk7IvpSFo pic.twitter.com/tYlBABg4JF

As mentioned before, never feel bad about yourself even if you make some of the worst mistakes of your life. Because there’s Donald Trump who’s making even worse gaffes, despite being the President of the United States of America. That said, let’s hope he doesn’t do this again next year.
