I had a beautiful Lhasa apso growing up. I was four years old when we brought her home. We named her Nancy.
Growing up as an only child of my parents, on the outskirts of the city, Nancy was my constant companion. We would play hide and seek, lie on the backyard of my house and get equally scared of firecrackers during Diwali. When Nancy passed away, I was too old to be consoled and too young to be strong. The experience shattered me. I still miss my furry friend.
Dogs change us as a person, they make us feel loved. The selfless love that can only be expected from a creature who doesn’t judge you, but simply loves you.
