Every year, July 1, i.e. the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, is celebrated as National Doctor’s Day. Our gratitude towards medical professionals who are working on the frontlines during the coronavirus pandemic isn’t restricted to a single day but we use this occasion to salute them and show our gratitude for all that they do.
Tahira Kashyap penned a note for healthcare workers who oversaw her cancer treatment saying, “I never knew #doctorsday even existed earlier, but my recent health ordeal has made me value all of them so much! This picture is from the day of my 12th and last chemotherapy session!”
She added, “Had this COVID situation not been there I would have paid a visit to the doctors and nurses with another box of chocolates who really take care of all of us! No matter how many apples I have, I am never keeping the doctors away!”
Ananya Panday shared a post on Instagram with the caption, “Happy Doctor’s day to my Dadaji, Dadi and all the selfless, superhero doctors out there ? Thank you for keeping us healthy and safe especially in these tough times ?? Supremely proud to have two doctors as my grandparents ❤️??⚕️”
Sonali Bendre who also battled cancer shared this message on social media.
Celebrities like Sachin Tendulkar, Dhanush and Tamannaah Bhatia also expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards medical professionals.
