In Indian society, there is a significant amount of stigma attached to women who have multiple sexual partners. Our traditional values tend to attach a woman’s ‘worth’ to her virginity – the less number of sexual interactions she has, the ‘purer’ she is. This is because most of our society perceives women in two polarized ways. She is either pure and chaste or she is impure and provocative. This is called the ‘Madonna-Whore Complex’. So when a woman has multiple sexual partners, society brands her as a ‘prostitute’.
This is exactly what happened when one woman on Twitter advised other women to have multiple sexual partners so that they can explore their sexuality and denote the things they like and dislike in bed, leading to an overall healthy sexual life. Sounds fair?
The more sexual partners you have, the more you’ll be aware of what you like and do not like in bed and you’ll be able to communicate that to your spouse more clearly leading to a very healthy sex life. Dont let these clowns convince you otherwise. https://t.co/mMBuweRRfa

However, a doctor named Dhruv Chauhan immediately called her out for being ‘woke’ and equated having multiple sexual partners to ‘prostitution’. He further asked people with the same opinion to read religious books.
As a doctor, his first concern should have been the possibility of catching sexually transmitted infections or diseases when it comes to having sexual relations with different people. But his reflex reaction was to shame women for being sexually active with multiple partners.
Instead of arguing from a health perspective, he started bashing women for their “pseudo-feminist mindset”. He expressed that exploring one’s sexuality with many people is nothing to be “proud” of.
The moment a doctor compares sex to detergent, you cease to take him seriously.
Even his reposts slam women for apparently being “morally corrupt”.
He does mention the risk of catching STDs. But he primarily associates that risk with having multiple sexual partners whereas it should have been associated with undiagnosed health conditions. A person can end up with an STD even if they have sex with one partner and if that partner suffers from an STD and they are unaware of it.
Surely having a lesser number of sexual partners helps in preventing the transmission of STDs but so does the consistent use of condoms, regular testing, and vaccinations.
There is a term called sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) which spreads through multiple sexual partners for which one doesn’t need degree in medicine .
I rest my case here

Several people online called the doctor out for his regressive views. Here’s what they said:
Well.
Prostitution over all has been the oldest profession serving one gender only, historically.
Men shaming sex workers takes the whole bakery.
The toxicity female doctors face from their male classmates, HODs and colleagues is quite a huge challenge and in the marriage… https://t.co/XM664mrB3A

Maybe Mahabharat would help?
The five husbands of Draupadi, many wives for Krishna, three of abhinay, four of Arjuna, many children out of wedlock, Parashar and Matsyagandha, the practice of Niyoga…. Lots of moral beacons of Victorian monogamy. Not. https://t.co/nVzGvyHFjg— TheDude! (@ThisAndThatDude) August 17, 2023
Doctors shaming women for wanting to explore their sexuality. 🤮🤮
So having multiple sexual partners is prostitution now?
God save us from judgemental docs like you.— Mahima Batheja (@MaahiBatheja) August 16, 2023
Is it really that wrong tho? I understand someone wanting to do everything with their one and only partner but you would be very lucky if you find someone who’s right for you and understands you on the very first try. What’s wrong with exploring? It’s not prostitution.

Yeh woke ka matlab kya hai ?? It seems anyone who doesn’t confirm to your idea of morality and wants to live life on his/her own terms is a woke ??? And no need to read those fantasy fiction books https://t.co/sI30TcXD1F

I am sorry to say ladies, but please don’t listen to this BS. As long as you are practising safe sex, proper sexual hygiene, protection, you are free to do as you like it. We are in 2023, we don’t let the number of sexual partners judge one’s morality. https://t.co/qTCAxziEAL

Is there nowhere to report this so-called doctor and get his license cancelled? Some medical board or ethics committee? Scary that such people are treating patients out there. Someone like him should NOT be trusted. https://t.co/HrQ5bDhP9L

Instead of judging women for their sexual preferences, which is completely one’s personal choice, doctors should educate people about safe sex practices and urge them to get tested to maintain their sexual health.
