Jharkhand Doc Allegedly Prescribed Pregnancy Tests To 2 Men Complaining Of Stomach Ache

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what a pregnancy test is and who and when should it be prescribed. But as it turns out, one doctor clearly didn’t get the memo.

In a rather hilarious incident, two men were prescribed pregnancy tests by their doctor after both complained of having a stomach ache for a few days.

According to a report by News18, the incident took place in Jharkhand’s Chatra district. The two men visited a government hospital doctor, Mukesh Kumar, for a check-up and complained of suffering from a prolonged stomach ache.

The doctor prescribed them several tests including HIV, HBA, HCV, CBC, HH-2, and ANC, revealed India Today. ANC is a test to determine whether a woman is pregnant or not.

When the two men, Gopal and Kameshwar, visited a pathological lab to get their tests done, the attending doctor was surprised to see ANC on the list and informed the two guys that ANC is a pregnancy test and can be only prescribed to women.

Finding the incident funny, Gopal and Kameshwar went back to the village and shared the story with other villagers. Soon enough, the word spread.

The two guys then complained to Arun Kumar Paswan, the civil surgeon of Chatra district. He went on record to claim that an investigation about the incident is underway.

Meanwhile, the accused doctor has said that all claims made by Gopal and Kameshwar are false.

“This is not true. This is an effort to defame me. Those tests could have been added by overwriting,” he said.

If what the two men are saying is true, the doctor’s patients are in for some serious trust issues!
