Diners Gift A Car To Waitress Who Used To Walk 22 Kms A Day To Work

There are many people around the world who work incredibly hard to make their ends meet. While many of us cringe about boarding a crowded metro or surviving hundreds of traffic jams in order to make it to work every day, a waitress walked 22 km almost every day to reach the restaurant she works in. She was saving money to buy a car so that she can cut short her daily travel time of 5 hours.

Adrianna Edwards who works at Denny’s, an American restaurant chain in Texas served breakfast to a couple who visited the restaurant one fine day. Touched by Adrianna’s story, the couple decided to help her, reports NDTV.

After leaving the restaurant, the couple returned back with a Sentra for Ms. Edwards which they had purchased from Classic Galveston Auto Group on Broadway Street. Adrianna broke into tears looking at the couple’s heartwarming gesture.

“I still feel like I’m dreaming,” she said. “When I see somebody in need, I’ll probably be more likely to help them out and to do everything that I can to help them out.”

The kind couple chose to stay anonymous and said that they expect nothing in return from the waitress. They said that they only expect Adrianna to help someone in need if she gets a chance.

“She teared up, which made me happy that she was so moved by that,” the woman who bought the car told Daily Mail. “I know it’s Thanksgiving, but I said Merry Christmas and that hopefully someday she’ll pay it forward,” she added.
