The Punjabi munda, who’s already being touted as a star in B-town, Diljit Dosanjh had humble beginnings he still remembers. Serving as a judge on a TV reality show, the Udta Punjab star connects with fans on a singing level that is hard to put into words. Besides fanboying over Kylie Jenner, or buying a private jet, Diljit loves anything musical.
Ask the ‘EK Kudi’ singer which Bollywood superstar would he love to lend voice to for a song. Diljit says he doesn’t wish to sing for any of these stars.
“I don’t want to sing for any superstar. If given a choice, I would love to sing religious numbers. Hopefully through my songs, shayad koi kahin baitha sirf do minute ke liye bhi parmaatma se judd jaye. That will be a big achievement for me.”
In his own words, he says not very proud of his songs. And that his style of music is commercial because the music label sees the money made at the end of the day.
Actor or singer? Diljit’s heart lies in singing and says acting just happened because the Punjabi film industry gained momentum.
“I used to sing Shabad and play the tabla in gurudwaras. That’s how most people in Punjab learn singing.I started learning folk music later. When the Punjabi film industry gained momentum, I started acting as well.”
Well, we that’s how this young gun is and we are quite proud!
