Back in July last year, the ‘RHTDM’ actor Dia Mirza took to social media and announced the arrival of her and businessman Vaibhav Rekhi’s first child. Sharing a pic of their baby boy Avyaan Azaad Rekhi’s hands, the actor revealed that he was born prematurely on May 14.

And it’s been a year since this little munchkin came into their lives. The mother is grateful and a tad bit emotional. Hence, she took to social media and penned a heartfelt note for little Avyaan along with their beautiful picture. She recalled how their premature baby had to go through life-saving surgeries.
“Our Jaan, our miracle, you were born on this day 1 year ago with the song ‘Imagine’ playing. You were 3 months premature at 820 gms. 36 hours after birth we discovered you had necrotising enterocolitis and had to go through life saving surgery. You were cared for and nourished in the NICU with a stoma for 90days and finally sent home to us with a stoma.
After you had gained strength and weight you went back to hospital for a 2nd surgery that lasted four and half hours. The doctors prepared us for the worst and said it would take a minimum of 21 days before you could be back home with us.”

It would have definitely been tough to see their son go through so much pain. But all’s well that end’s well. Wishing the little champ a healthy and happy life ahead.
