Dhoni Met His Old Chaiwala Friend From Railway Days And Took Him Out For A Lavish Dinner

He may be a global sports icon for the world but for his friends and family, MS Dhoni is a regular guy who loves spending time with them. And now that he has a lot more time on his hands after giving up captaincy and test cricket, he is chilling out.

Recently, Mahi was spotted travelling in a train with his Jharkhand teammates and having a good time. Playing for Jharkhand in the Vijay Hazare trophy, MS Dhoni was in Kolkata a few days back.

After winning the game, Dhoni was celebrating inside the dressing room with his team when he saw a familiar face. It was Thomas, a tea seller from Kharagpur who Dhoni took not even a minute to remember.

 

As most of us know (thanks to Dhoni’s biopic) that before making it big in the cricket field, Dhoni used to be a TTE at the Kharagpur Railway Station. It was then that he used to visit Thomas’s tea stall for ‘chai’. 

 

Dhoni then invited Thomas back to his hotel and treated him with a lavish dinner. He also met a lot of his old railway friends during the visit.
