Madurai Couple Claim That Dhanush Is Their Son And Demand ₹65,000 As Monthly Compensation

Dhanush is a name in Indian cinema who needs no introduction. The Tamil superstar who rose to fame with his widely popular song ‘Kolaveri Di’ in 2012 has won three National awards and even starred in two Bollywood movies, ‘Ranjhanna’ and ‘Shamitabh’. This time, however, Dhanush is in the news for an utterly weird reason.

Dhanush has received a summon from Melur Judicial Magistrate Court in Madurai as an elderly couple, Kathiresan(60) and Meenakshi(55) has filed a petition claiming that the actor is their biological son and has refused to provide any maintenance to them.

“We named him Kalaiselvan and enrolled him in a school in Melur. When he completed class X, we got him admitted in class XI in a school in Sivaganga district.”

The couple also alleged that the actor changed his name to enter the world of cinema.

“But he dropped out and moved to Chennai and changed his name to Dhanush K Raja and entered the world of cinema.”

The couple hailing from Malampatti also produced a birth certificate and some childhood photographs of the actor.

The couple tried to reach Dhanush a few times, but were never allowed to meet him. Now they are demanding a monthly compensation of ₹65,000 from the actor.

Judge Selvakumar heard the petition on Friday and has summoned the actor on January 12. Whether the couple’s claims are true or not, we will have to wait till next year to find out.
