Apparently, creating loud noises helps to scare away locust swarms. Hence, people started coming up with desi jugaad to ward-off these winged invaders. Earlier, we saw how farmers turned into DJs and blasted loud music. Soon after, people in Kanpur and Rajasthan banged utensils, drums to scare away locusts, reported Lokmat.

The district administration in Panna, MP, also came in support of the farmers and used blaring sirens to scare locusts away, reported India Today.

“This saved loss of agricultural crops here. The way to prevent them from damaging crops is to create loud noises or to spray insecticides,” an Agriculture Officer said.

Recently, someone has come up with a desi aavishkaar to shoo away the ‘Tiddi Dal’. Rahul Srivastav, a superintendent of police in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, recently shared a video of the desi jugaad that’s been set up in a farm, reported NDTV. The instrument, that looks like an ‘aeroplane’, is intended to continuously make noise with the help of wind.

Here’s how people reacted to this novel idea:

Well, we Indians have expertise in coming up with such desi jugaad. What do you think of this one? Tell us.
