Renuka Shahane Speaks Up About Demonetisation’s Execution And She Isn’t Mincing Words

Renuka Shahane is known to never mince words and has been veracious many times on several issues. This time she spoke her mind out on the execution of India’s demonetisation of ₹500-₹1000 notes.

Speaking at the NDFC Film Bazaar meet at Panaji, the ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!’ star called the execution a failure.

“The execution of the demonetization of Rs 500 and 1000 currency notes has been terrible. It was terrible to the people who didn’t need more troubles in their life. The people who get way with a lot of black money have already gotten away with it.”

When demonetisation was declared on November 9, Renuka had urged all to support the initiative and join hands in the crusade against corruption. She had written on Facebook:

“Let’s all support this initiative whole heartedly to get rid of the corruption that has eaten into our country’s health like a lethal cancer. Yes there will be hardships. And somehow the rich black money makers & hoarders as well as militants & terrorists seem to always be ahead of honest hardworking people.”

While her FB post in favour of demonetisation got a lot of support, will this statement invite a lot of flak? Only time will tell.
