Food Delivery Guy Becomes A Software Engineer After Learning How To Code In His Free Time

This isn’t the first time that we are saying that hard work and determination always pays off. And if you think you can’t dream big then you must read this inspiring story of a guy who started as a delivery agent but ended up joining an information services company as a software engineer.

Shaik Abdul Sathar was born in a humble family to a man who is a contract worker. The lack of adequate funds forced him to start looking for ways to earn money after his final year in college.

He started working as a delivery boy with several delivery companies. “Ola, Swiggy, Uber, Rapido, Zomato, I was everywhere since the final year of college,” he wrote in his LinkedIn post.

“I wanted to contribute financially as soon as I can. Because my father is a contract worker. So we only had just enough money to get by.”

It was during these days that the shy boy learned how to interact with people among other skills.

“One day, I got casual advice to learn to code. My friend told me about a course and insisted that I join it.”

Sathar took his friend’s advice and started learning coding in the mornings. From 6:00 pm to 12:00 am, he did his deliveries.

“With the money I earned from those, I used as pocket money and also for small needs for my family.”

Soon, he was able to build web applications on his own. After working on a few projects himself, he started applying to companies.

“My delivery boy experience helped me build communication skills and I built coding skills at ‘NxtWave’.”

Finally, he got placed at an information services company as a Software Engineer.

“From a place where I had to be careful about every rupee, I came to a stage where I can clear my parent’s debts with a few months’ salaries. I am very grateful to NxtWave for being a life-changing force for me,” he concluded in his post.

People online were in awe of his inspiring and motivational journey and lauded him for never losing hope.

This reminds me of a popular Hindi poem, “Lahron se darkar nauka paar nahi hoti, koshish karne walon ki kabhi haar nahi hoti.”
