Animal neglect and cruelty are grim realities of our society. Recently, Twitter slammed people buying pets that can’t handle the Indian climate, and urged them to adopt instead.

As per a report in NDTV, a Delhi-based YouTuber who runs a channel called ‘GauravZone’ recently uploaded a video with his pet dog Dollar. In the now-deleted video, he attempts to make his pet ‘fly’ by tying a bunch of hydrogen balloons on its back. “The upper body has started flying a little,” he says as he demonstrates the act by pulling the strings of the balloons and lifting the dog up even further. Another user re-uploaded the video:

The video shows him in a park, nudging the dog to run saying that it will fly up in the air due to the momentum. He tied 2 more balloons to the dog and the dog floats away a bit before the woman accompanying them catches hold of the pet.

In the same video, he can be seen sitting on a car in a narrow street, and again trying to fly his pet in the air. The dog almost floats up to the 2nd-floor balcony of a building.

A case has been registered against Gaurav and his mother in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar police station under Sections 188, 269, 34 of the Animal Cruelty Act, India Today reports.

This comes after he released an apology video 3 days ago, explaining why he deleted the video. He said, “Before making the video, I had taken all the safety measures. I had said this in the video but did not upload this part as it would’ve increased the length of the video. It was a mistake on my part. All I want to say is that I had made the video with all the safety measures… wrong content went out and it should not have happened.”

The YouTuber who has around 4.15 million subscribers further added, “I apologise if you felt bad after watching the Dollar video. I won’t try such things again. Those who’re getting influenced by such things, please don’t get influenced. If sentiments have been hurt, I truly seek your apology.” Check it out:
