Chain snatching is a terrible menace that plagues the country. We can’t even imagine what a victim goes through when such a crime happens – does her mind blank out? Does she get bruised due to the force with which the chain is snatched? Or is she rendered scared to leave her house in the future? Maybe all of the above. Due to the fear of these thieves, many women even avoid wearing expensive jewellery, especially around the neck.
However, one woman in Delhi decided to take matters into her own hands. When two chain snatchers on a bike tried to steal her jewellery, she bravely foiled their plans. Here is the CCTV footage of the incident.

According to India Today, the incident took place in the Nangloi area on August 30. In the video, the woman can be seen getting off a rickshaw with what seems to be her daughter. After paying the fare, both are crossing the street to their home when the thieves with helmets on, appear on a bike.
She grabs the one riding pillion and pulls him off the two-wheeler while the driver abandons his bike and runs away. Soon enough, passersby gather to beat the one who the lady caught. Times Now News reports that the perpetrator is now in police custody and the matter is being investigated.
Twitter applauded the lady’s bravery and her badass act of bringing a criminal to justice.

This isn’t the first time common folk have fought off criminals. Earlier, a Punjabi woman chased away two armed robbers and an elderly couple thrashed thieves with furniture in Tamil Nadu.
