Delhi Police Feeds 2 Daily-Wage Labourers Who Were Hungry For 4 Days Due To Lockdown

Daily-wage labourers, construction workers, drivers, vegetable and fruit sellers and other economically backward sections of the society have been the worst affected by the 21-day lockdown imposed by the Indian government to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. They have been robbed of their daily income which is used to feed their families, reports India Today. Many have been left stranded with no place to go after transport services have been suspended.

Two such daily-wage labourers, Prashant and Dilshad, had not eaten anything for 4 days amidst the lockdown. Desperate in hunger, they were forced to call the Delhi Police and ask for help. Delhi Police then came forward and fed them.

The police also provided them with ration for further use, masks, and hand-sanitizers.
