Delhi Cops Arrest 2 Aashiqs Who Stole Delivery Guy’s Parcels To Give Their GFs Diwali Gifts

Diwali is all about lighting up our homes, partying with our loved ones and exchanging gifts. And forwarding old ones doesn’t quite cut it anymore if you want the receiver to be impressed. But three residents of Delhi took it so seriously that they indulged in illegal activities for the same.

According to NDTV, on October 24, three men robbed a delivery agent when he was delivering parcels in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi. They were identified as 32-year-old Shashank Aggarwal, 29-year-old Amar Singh and Vishal.

The reason? They wanted to give expensive Diwali gifts (like iPhone 11) to their girlfriends! However, the cops arrested Shashank and Amar while Vishal is absconding. And the stolen parcels have also been recovered.

Business Standard quoted DCP West, Deepak Purohit saying,

“On Thursday, delivery boy Pramod Kumar, who used to deliver the items booked through Amazon flex to different parts of Delhi came at cement siding Punjabi bagh to deliver a booked parcel where he telephonically called to deliver the item to the customer at the place.”

“Three boys came and snatched the parcel he was carrying. The parcel contained several gift items including mobile phones. A case was lodged in this regard and investigation was taken up. Accused Amar Singh was arrested, who disclosed that they had earlier worked at online e-shopping portals as delivery boys and they knew that prior to Diwali, people used to order several gift items and they were well aware of the process of delivery.”

If you ask us, even gifting Soan Papdi is better than resorting to crime.
