Yesterday, social media feeds were bombarded with pictures of “snowfall” in Delhi! Yes, Delhi does have icy cold winters but honestly, nobody saw this coming.

After heavy rains on Thursday came heavy hailstorm – it hit the city and how! People have been sharing pictures of the “snow” clad roads and it looks straight out of a fairytale!

Snowfall was predicted in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. But just within a few minutes after the hailstorm, the area around Noida and Faridabad turned white.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm and heavy winds in Delhi and adjoining parts in the coming days.
