With 11 editions of the lucrative Indian Premier League done and dusted, the Delhi Daredevils are yet to lift the prestigious trophy. Let alone winning, the franchise’s performance since the inaugural season of the competition has been so dismal that they haven’t reached the final for even once.
While buying new guns in the auctions didn’t work, the Delhi Daredevils has decided to make a fresh start to their campaign this time around.
In a bid to bring luck, the Delhi-based franchise has changed their team’s name to ‘Delhi Capitals’ ahead of the 12th season of the T20 fiesta.

Needless to say, the decision triggered a series of jokes and memes on Twitter which are as funny as the team’s record in the competition.
Universal truth.
The only way DelhiDaredevils can win an IPL Trophy is by changing their name to Mumbai Indians or Chennai SuperKings!!#DelhiCapitals

That could have saved their ass!
Gujarat went, they could have renamed to Gujarat Lions Capital.
Also tells you, why people who eventually decide are so aloof. https://t.co/04zKz3APUS

The franchise also announced a new captain for the next season in the name of youngster Shreyas Iyer. Iyer will take over the role from Gautam Gambhir who just announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
With the new adjustments made, here’s hoping we get to see a new and better version of the team this season!
