Delhi Student Pulls A Trump, Asks Apple CEO, “How are you, Tim Apple?”

Young Indian students are making a significant mark in the world of technology with their incredible and growing skills. It was just yesterday when the country got to know the story of Kerala boy Ananthakrishnan, who made it to the Facebook Hall of Fame for successfully reporting and fixing a bug on WhatsApp.

Today, it is all about Delhi’s Palash Taneja has made a software that translates the audio on YouTube videos in real-time. The DPS Rohini student who is primarily a web and Android developer made an iOS model for the same as a part of the Apple scholarship programme. Surprisingly, he learned iOS development only a week ago and came up with his masterpiece.

“It took me about a week, I learnt iOS development and made this.”

And guess what? According to The Indian Express, his brilliant work earned him a meeting with none other than Apple CEO, Tim Cook. He got the opportunity to meet Tim Cook along with 13 aspiring coders from all over the world. However, it wasn’t much of a surprise for Taneja, as he knew that Cook meets some of the scholarship winners every year.

“I kind of knew he was coming… it’s been a trend that he meets some selected student scholarship winners.”

Speaking about whether Tim Cook liked his idea, Taneja who just cleared his board exams said,

“You know how Apple is focusing on accessibility and my idea was about linguistic accessibility by translating YouTube videos into the native language of the user. He (Cook) said it was a fantastic idea and he will look into it.”

Taneja also made the floor burst out in laughter when he stood in front of the 58-year-old chief executive. Displaying his wacky sense of humor, he asked,

“How are you, Tim Apple?”

It took Cook no time to realize what Taneja meant. Replying to the young coder’s question, he said,

“Yes, I am good and aware of what you mean to convey.”

For those who still haven’t got the joke, Taneja actually referred to the hilarious moment when US President Donald Trump had addressed Tim Cook as “Tim Apple” at a conference in March. Though it was a goof-up by Trump, Cook went on to change his Twitter name to “Tim Apple”, by replacing his surname with the company logo. The move went viral on social media platforms.

Jokes apart, it is indeed an incredible achievement, young man! Way to go!
