It is time, people. It is time! After six years of crushing over their chemistry and PDA, we finally get to witness #CoupleGoals Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh seal their forever!
Well, not exactly witness, considering there have legit been no photos of the bride and the groom from their Lake Como wedding festivities. The security is reportedly too tight, and guests have been requested to not click any pictures. As of yesterday, we knew that singer Harshdeep Kaur was slated to perform at the wedding functions, since both Ranveer and Deepika love her songs.
As per media reports, DeepVeer had a traditional Konkani engagement ceremony yesterday, known as Phool Muddi.
This is a South Indian ceremony where the bride and groom’s families perform puja and exchange coconuts and turmeric. The engagement was followed by a sit-down dinner.
Ranveer went down on his knees and made an emotional speech to Deepika!
Paps had already spotted the Sabyasachi bags when DeepVeer were leaving for Italy at the airport, thus confirming the designer that the couple would be wearing. Times Now reports that for the engagement ceremony, DP wore an off-white dress while Baba went all black!
Knowing Ranveer Singh’s love for dancing and sho-sha, you can expect their sangeet ceremony to be a total dhamaka! And indeed it was!
Media reports have managed to find out tiny details about the sangeet ceremony! Like the fact that the Ranveer’s energy was palpable as he danced his heart out on dhol beats and even played the dhol at one point!
Apart from Harshdeep Kaur and other musicians, singer Shubha Mudgal also performed at the wedding.
Reports claim that Deepika teared up during one of Shubha Mudgal’s beautiful thumris. Ranveer then went over, hugged her tight, and made sure she was smiling again in no time!
As for the mehendi ceremony, while DP chose to have a beautiful mehendi design, Baba chose to write #DeepVeer on his palm!
Today, the couple will be having a traditional Konkani wedding ceremony, followed by a north Indian one tomorrow!
And tomorrow is when everyone’s hoping a few pictures will be shared by the couple, giving our FOMO some much needed relief!
DeepVeer’s reception in Mumbai will be held on November 28th at the Grand Hyatt hotel where everyone who’s anyone is expected to be there. But for now, the only people who get to see Ranveer Singh make his grand dulha entry on a seaplane are his closest family and friends!
