Deepika & Alia Wishing Katrina Kaif On Her Wedding Is An Important Lesson On Sisterhood

So, Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal got married. I mean, it feels a bit weird saying it out loud because neither of them ever confirmed that they were dating in the first place and all we could bank upon were rumours. We didn’t know when they started dating, or when either of them proposed, or how their entire story unfolded. However, their wedding makes us happy. Not because it’s a celebrity wedding, but because love won – which, let’s be honest, is a rare sight nowadays.

But what’s even rarer is sisterhood. For a long time, society was busy pitting women against other women. Hence the saying, a woman is another woman’s worst enemy. And according to the invisible book of ‘Girl Codes’, a woman shouldn’t date her girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend. Which Katrina and Alia did. Deepika dated Ranbir and so did Katrina and now Alia. Even though Deepika and Katrina were never reportedly “friends” per se, Alia and Kat kinda were (still are?).

Therefore, when Deepika and Alia congratulated Katrina on her wedding and left heartfelt congratulatory messages, it was…well, new. Because we, as women, don’t do that often – being happy for another woman who dated your ex.

Now, some might call it a publicity stunt. Some might call the messages formal and manufactured by their respective PR teams. But IT. DOESN’T. MATTER. As long as there is an example being set. As long as there are other women doing the same – some might do it from the mind, others from the heart.

IMO, this is an incredible lesson on sisterhood. Because the world will try to tear us, women, apart but we have to find a way to stick with each other, support each other when time demands it, and be happy in each other’s happiness.
