Forget RIP, UP Village Head Wishes Deceased Man ‘A Bright Future Ahead’ On Death Certificate

Death certificates are usually a serious issue. They need to be apt, error and of course, not funny! But a picture of death certificate with a hilarious blunder is making news recently.

The incident in question happened in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh when the late Laxmi Shankar’s son reached the village head’s office to get his death certificate, reports News 18. After a prolonged illness, Shankar left for his heavenly abode on January 22 in Sirwariya village. His son required his death certificate for some financial transactions.

Accordingly, the village head issued him Shankar’s death certificate but what caught everyone’s attention was the last line of the certificate. “Main inke ujjwal bhavishya ki kaamna karta hoon (I wish him a bright future),” read the death certificate, reports Pune Mirror.

The letter reportedly went viral on social media following which the village head apologized for his blunder.

Well, ‘rest in peace’ would have been enough to wish the deceased man a peaceful afterlife, right? But we hope he has a ‘bright future’ in heaven as per the certificate too!
