Kids Have A Close Encounter With Deadly Snake, Grandad Shares Pic To Create Awareness

A majority of us are scared of snakes mostly because they are venomous and can kill us with a bite. Given the numerous instances, it is indeed true. But most of us don’t know how to react when we sight one. Well, this family is using a picture of their kids to deliver a lesson about snakes that all of us need to learn.

A mother of two, Alana was in the park with her two kids when she took a picture of them. But, little did she know that one of the world’s deadliest snakes was lurking around her kids in the open. When she later saw the picture with her father at home and spotted the snake on the dusty trail, they were taken aback.

Can you spot the snake?

The kids had no clue about the snake. The grandfather was surprised to see the ‘Eastern Brown Snake’ passing by the kids, without harming them. That is when he decided to share the picture with one of the members of the ‘Snake Catcher Victoria Australia’ group. The snake catchers group actively posts about such snake encounters on their Facebook page.

The grandpa wanted to show people how to act ‘appropriately’ around wildlife through the snake catcher’s Facebook page, reports NDTV. That is why snake catcher Barry Goldsmith took to social media and shared the picture on their Fb page.

He wrote, “No one saw the large Eastern Brown Snake until they looked at the pics later. The snake saw them coming and watched as they unknowingly skipped past.”

“Really goes to show snakes are not aggressive and just need respect. Please be careful, take care this summer, and be nice to snakes.”

People on the internet were shocked to spot the snake so close to the kids. Some even shared their experiences with snakes and agreed that they are harmless unless provoked.

The Eastern Brown Snake is also the ‘second most venomous snake’ in the world after the Inland Taipan found in Central East Australia. Its bite can reportedly cause cardiac arrest in just minutes.

While it’s true that serpents do not always harm us unless they sense a threat, we can obviously provoke them by say, unknowingly stepping on them. So stay safe, people.
