If athleticism has a synonym, it has to be AB de Villiers. A batsman who can hit any ball anywhere on the field, De Villiers’ incredible abilities as a sportsman has seen him register himself as one of South Africa’s all-time greats. Innovative shots, bone-shattering dives, monstrous sixes and jaw-dropping catches, there isn’t anything this man cannot do.

And the ‘Superman’ gave us another example of the same when the Royal Challengers Bangalore took on Sunrisers Hyderabad in a do or die match in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

Hyderabad batsman Alex Hales danced downed the pitch to hit Moeen Ali towards the deep mid-wicket boundary and it was destined for a six. But wait, nothing is safe when AB is at guard, right? Much to the surprise of the thousands present at the Chinnaswamy, De Villiers brought down the roof with a mind-boggling catch with one hand.

Needless to say, Tweeple lost its calm over the phenomenal effort from the Protea and it was raining memes on Twitter.
