A BJP lawmaker from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh found himself in trouble after his daughter alleged that she is getting threatened by him after marrying her boyfriend who happens to be outside their caste.
Sakshi Misra, 23, daughter of Rajesh Misra (AKA Pappu Bhartaul), a legislator from Bareilly, took to social media with her husband Ajitesh Kumar expressing threat from her father after the two eloped and married in a temple. Kumar alias Abhi stated he’s a Dalit.
In one of the two videos, Sakshi was seen pleading for police protection from her own family.

She has not been threatened by any member of the family or any person associated with me," Rajesh Misra told the press. Deputy Inspector General R K Pandey said he had come to know of the video messages and had asked the SSP to extend security to the couple.The DIG said the police do not know where to give her security as she had not disclosed her location. In the video, Sakshi Misra has also told her father to let her live her life.The woman warned that if anything happens to her or her husband, she would do something that would put him behind bars.

She also mentioned that if anything happens to them, her father and his aide Rajiv Rana are to be blamed for.
“I want to say that if in future anything happens to me, Abhi or his family, my father, Vicky Bhartol and Rajiv Rana will be responsible for it. Those who are helping my father, stop helping him because our lives are in danger.”
According to HT, BJP legislator Rajesh Misra said that he is not opposing the marriage of his daughter.
“My only concern is that the boy is more than nine years older than her. As a father, I am also concerned about their future because the boy doesn’t earn much. I can never even imagine harming my daughter. I want the couple to return home. I have also informed the party high command about the matter,” said the MLA from Bithri Chainpur in Bareilly district.
In another video, Ajitesh Kumar says that the reason Rajesh Misra wants them to be killed by his aides is that he belongs to the Dalit community.

Soon after Sakshi accused her father, the MLA also issued a statement saying that Sakshi was an adult and had a right to make decisions.
“Neither I nor any member of my family or any acquaintance has intimidated Sakshi. I am busy with my constituency work,” he added.
