It took only five minutes to break his limbs so bad that they had to be amputated. However, man has not yet been able to create weapons or hatred for that matter, that is enough to break the spirits of people like Bant Singh. After seeing the worst of humans and life, Bant Singh has found an incredible way of protesting against all sorts of oppression against humans – music. While most of us would have been crushed in mind and body, this man raised his voice, not in slogans but music that boils your blood with the passion of protest.

When Bant sought justice, he was seduced with money and land to drop the case but Bant stood his ground. Finally, in 2004, the three men who were involved with the act of rape were convicted. It was an iconic moment for Dalits for it was the first time a report lodged by a Dalit caused conviction of an upper-caste. Bant was a Dalit hero and regarded activist by then. Two years later, Bant was attacked by a gang of 7 men and beaten up so brutally that both his lower arms and a leg had to be amputated.
